Why This Program

SSC nasscom is in a pursuit to build a vibrant, dynamic and competitive training ecosystem to prepare the country’s talent for tomorrow. A progressive and dynamic skilling ecosystem demands high responsiveness from its stakeholders to stay ahead.

With this goal in mind, this comprehensive framework has been designed to identify and recognise best practices in assessment and training pedagogy. The framework will help evaluate assessment agencies, trainers and master trainers to assure quality and improve performance across the national technology training ecosystem.

Who can use this framework?

Prospective trainees: The framework will make it easy to decide the right training partners across the ecosystem based on their domain expertise, training pedagogy and 15 other factors.
Employers: Using the framework, any employer will be able to look into the relative effectiveness of training agencies to decide the right partners they will like to collaborate with and source talent from.
Trainers: Training Agencies and Master trainers can rely on the framework to benchmark the effectiveness of their assessment and training pedagogy with others and identify areas to improve.
Govt Agencies: The skilling bodies can use the framework as a single source of truth to evaluate the strength of the training ecosystem, and recognise and reward the best performers.

Whom does the framework evaluate

Training Provider

Each training partner participating in the program will receive a comprehensive rating score that indicates the organisation’s relative strengths and weaknesses. Managers can use this information to improve the quality and relevance of the training programs. Favorable recognition in the annual rankings can also help develop a strong brand.

Parameters for Evaluation

Training Inputs

Includes infrastructure, number of licensed trainers on facility, the learning resources available to trainees (library, online content, tools like CMS)

Training Process

Ability to reach out to target audience, record and report details of trainees, code of conduct, pre-training assessments to determine training needs, counselling and feedback mechanism

Training Outputs

Measured in numbers of Dropouts in class, the proportion of trainees certified and placed successfully

Internal Process

Includes mechanisms of grievance redressal, and opportunities for trainers and support staff to learn and develop on the job

Other Areas of Expertise

Capability in programs related to emerging technologies, revenue from non-government sources, strategic planning involved in determining trainee to trainer ratio and putting up a center

MASTER TRAINERS AND TRAINERS

Individual trainers can look forward to improving their pedagogical and technical competencies with the help of the evaluation. Consequently, the knowledge and skills they disseminate to trainees will also improve. Individuals doing excellent work have a chance to receive career recognition and evolve into role models and change leaders in the training ecosystem

Qualification and Experience

Evaluates the person’s highest educational qualification and relevant certifications, experience in teaching and the technology sector

Training Capability

Relative emphasis on formative assessment in pedagogy, use of training aids and tools and experience with future and emerging technologies

Training Outputs

Measured in numbers of Dropouts in class, the proportion of trainees certified and placed successfully

ASSESSMENT AGENCIES

The assessment agencies participating in the program will receive a comprehensive rating score that indicates the organisation’s relative strengths and weaknesses. Managers can use this information to design assessment protocols that are better aligned to training programs and curriculum, as well as the needs of the industry

Organisational Capability

Includes depth of experience in the sector, processes involved in design, testing and updates to question bank, use of simulations in assessments, proctor training, and inclusion of subject matter experts in the panel

Platform Capability

Availability of features like geotagging, test resume capability, image-based monitoring, as well as an ability to support multiple languages and devices in an online and offline setting

Assessments and Results

The depth and width of available reports, average turnaround times to generate these reports and real-time reporting capabilities

Research and Development

Initiatives undertaken in research and publication relevant to the stakeholders and subject matter
